SEPT Program in Vietnam

SEPT’s main commitment is the MBA Program in SME Development, the only MBA program worldwide that focuses on the promotion and development of SMES. SEPT Vietnam was established in 2005 in cooperation with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Since 2012 the SEPT MBA is also offered at the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) in Ho-Chi-Minh City.

Our MBA in SME development is taught in Vietnam with close cooperation between the University of Leipzig, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and the Vietnamese-German University (VGU). In emerging and developing economies, short term training courses on innovation management and firm internationalization (with over 100 hours of presence training and coaching of resulting projects) are a highly-sought after service. Our expert teams, whose members have studied in Germany, carry up-to-date knowledge and tools for enterprises, governmental organizations and other stakeholders involved in the development of SMEs.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology

Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) was established in 1956, the first national university of technology in Vietnam. Since then, it has been an institution for the training of engineers and scientific researchers for almost all sectors of the economy and continuously making considerable contributions to the industrialization and modernization process of the country.

At present, the teaching staff of the university is about 1,500 (out of total 1,800 university employees). Among them, there are 240 professors and associate professors, 450 Dr.Sc. and Ph.D.

Vietnamese-German University (VGU)

The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is a Vietnamese state university. Founded in 2008, VGU is based on a close cooperation between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the German State Hessen. Within the past years the project broadened to a German-wide cooperation.

The main goal is to build a research-oriented university of world standard in Ho-Chi-Minh City and to follow the successful German model and standards concerning academic and administrative structure.

VGU´s strategy is to import excellent German study programs, taken from the strongest scientific areas of Germany and customize them to the needs of Vietnamese higher education. After a successful study students receive a German university degree, providing them with best opportunities on the job-market.

Given the mission by the Vietnamese government, VGU aims to become the leading research university in Vietnam and the region. VGU´s profile is unique: German study programs and German degrees provide for an exceptional education of highest standards.
