Frequently Asked Questions

A: It is recommended to send the application no more than two months before the deadlines, so all your documents are updated,

  • Self-finance: 1st January –15th March for tuition beginning in October of the same year
  • DAAD Scholarship: 1st August –15th October for tuition beginning in October of the following year

For scholarship candidates, consider one year ahead of your desired year entry to study

A: Yes!

  • Submit a complete application at least one month before the application's deadline.
  • Write a convincing application essay explaining your experience and expectations and the importance of this MBA in your professional development.
  • Upload your documents complete, clear, and clean.

A: If you are a DAAD scholarship candidate, upload your application document and include the Application Form and the DAAD checklist completed and signed, for the DAAD EPOS scholarship.

A: A selection committee composed of representatives from the DAAD, the SEPT Competence Center, and the International Center of Leipzig University.

A: No, neither for scholarship applicants nor for self-financed. Since a Committee decides the admission allocation, it is not possible to admit any particular student before the regular process is completed.

A: Yes. The admissions committee looks for good qualitative skills, leadership, and motivation in learning to develop a small business. You can demonstrate these competencies through various undergraduate majors, professional experience, and extra-curricular activities.

A: Minimum two years of professional experience in SME promotion and training. For self-financed candidates is possible to have internships and cooperative education as work experience.

A: Yes. If you have studied in a country where the educational system awards bachelor’s degrees after only three years (e.g., India, Singapore, Australia, etc.), we will require one year of additional study or that it fulfills at least 180 ECTS.

Note: Students from India with a 3-year Bachelor´s degree are eligible to apply for a Master’s degree program if they meet the following requirements. Minimum grade: First division/class 60% and above or A = Very Good and above or a GPA from 3.00 onwards.

A: Accepted applicants will receive the admission letter from the University 3 to 4 months before the MBA Program starts. As soon as you get the letter, you can apply for the visa; we recommend being aware in advance of the procedures and other visa requirements.

A: Interviews are part of the selection process. The interviews are done online.

A: It is not possible at our University. We expect to be part of the SEPT MBA and remain in the program until you complete it.

If your application is shortlisted, we will contact you via email and request hard copy documents. Only in this case, you must send the documents via postal mail.

A: As English is the language of instruction, you don't need to speak any German to apply. However, we recommend an intensive two-month (or longer) German course to make your life in Germany easier.

A: The tuition fee for the SEPT master program is EUR 6.000, payable in four installments (EUR 1.500) before the beginning of each semester. Please note that books and individual study materials are not included in the fees. Additionally, please consider you have to open a blocked account specified by the embassy with EUR 10.332 to cover your basic living expenses in Germany.
