International SEPT - MELES Symposium 2016 in Leipzig, Germany
International Entrepreneurship Promotion at Higher Education Institutions on 17th & 18th of November 2016, Leipzig University
By now entrepreneurial education has found its way into most universities as a curricular or non-curricular topic to stimulate start-up culture among students and scientists. Since 2006 we have successfully supported start-ups and entrepreneurs from all higher education institutions in the City of Leipzig with our support program SMILE (Self Management Initiative LEipzig). More than 400 businesses were created and implemented in the market.
In addition to our existing entrepreneurship promotion program we would like to tackle new challenges regarding international entrepreneurship. Leipzig University is able to attract over 10% of its students from abroad and would therefore like to design entrepreneurial support and international networks to foster international new ventures.
This symposium discusses best practice experiences for international entrepreneurship from institutions all over the world and gather ideas how to improve existing entrepreneurship programs for foreign founders. As part of this goal we would like to present our experiences to promote entrepreneurship in the Erasmus+-supported MELES project.
