Network Meeting on Life Science Transfer

The 1st network meeting on Life Science Transfer organized by our SMILE partner the Life Science Transfer Office (LTO) took place yesterday on 26.09.2017 at Leipzig University. After a welcome speech and a presentation of the Life Science Transfer Office by Prof. Dr. Thomas Lenk (Vice Chancellor for Development and Transfer of Leipzig University), Prof. Dr. Jörg Gabert (Genolytic GmbH) showed exciting insights into the topic of setting up a company in the life science sector. In the subsequent panel discussion with representatives of startups and established companies (moderated by Prof. Dr. Utz Dornberger), different experiences and concepts for the development of the industry and transfer opportunities were discussed.

The Life Science Transfer Office (LTO) at the University of Leipzig sees itself as a place where transfer-relevant services are located close to a large number of important research institutions in order to enable rapid and easy access for the actors involved. The LTO includes the Research and Transfer Service Department, SMILE.medibiz, SMILE and BBZ.
