Young researchers from Africa participate in the SEPT Summer School at Leipzig University

At the beginning of September, has started the summer school at the University sponsored by the Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Participants of the summer school are 30 researchers from different African countries. The organizer of the event is the International SEPT Program (Small Enterprise Promotion & Training), which is the part of the Institute for African Studies at Leipzig University.

Since 3 of September, 30 DAAD scholarship holders from various African countries have been guests in Germany. The four-week summer school is designed for young researchers from developing countries, who receive scholarships from Germany as participants of the DAAD Surplace program. During the four weeks course, 30 scholarship holders will work on the topic of "Project Development for Knowledge Transfer". With the help of this training, the participants are to be comprehensively prepared for future work as a university lecturer in their home countries. Among other things, the study program implies learning of different methods of applied teaching, individual scientific work and the supervision of scientific projects in applied research. Being a guest of the Summer School at Leipzig University enables participants to find supervisors for their master's and doctoral theses. In addition, the participating DAAD scholarship holders gain their own experience of staying in Germany and get their first insights into the society and culture.

SEPT is a practical-oriented research and training program at Leipzig University dedicated to designing and implementation of training programs for managers and junior executives from developing and transition countries.
