SEPT (Small Enterprise Promotion and Training), is a research and training program at the University of Leipzig. Focusing mainly on the economic analysis, yet bringing together various approaches of several social disciplines, SEPT combines serious theoretical study and meaningful learning experiences in the promotion of SME in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa. SEPT offers:

- International short-term training courses for entrepreneurs and managers
- Special consultancy and coaching services for small- and medium sized enterprises
- Special services for governments and promotion and development institutions
SEPT is intended for people who want to understand and influence how the small and medium-sized enterprises work in developing and transition economies. SEPT enables participants to work as multipliers in decision-making positions, to provide support to small and medium-sized businesses as well as to promote innovative entrepreneurs. Apart from socio-political and economic considerations, by securing income and employment for the poor, the main focus is the identification of innovation and growth potential in the SME sector and thus the development of concepts to rethink the industrial and economic policy in the long run.
The Technical University of Dresden offers a two-year postgraduate program Vocational Education and Adult Education in International Development Work. The main objective of the course is to provide the graduates from developing countries with pedagogic and didactic qualifications in the area of vocational training and continued education. The program includes a basic introduction into the science of education as well as a specialization related to different aspects of pedagogy. Knowledge and experience in design, implementation and evaluation of projects in vocational training and continued education are adapted to the requirements of specific countries.
The University of Applied Sciences of Brandenburg in cooperation with the Brandenburg Technical University of Cottbus offers a two-year Master's Course of Technology and Innovation Management. The first two terms take place at the Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences focusing on the basic studies of Technology and Innovation Management, on the fundamentals of Management Science and Social Qualifications. The third term is held at the Brandenburg Technical University of Cottbus concentrating on Engineering Management and Technical Consolidation. In the fourth term, the students decide optionally which institution should tutor their Masters' thesis.
The Technical University Bergakademie of Freiberg offers a Master Course "International Management of Resources and Environment". The international MBA Program offers an interdisciplinary approach and combines general managerial capabilities with skills and knowledge in natural resources and the environment educating experts for the environmental and resource management.
