The ideal candidate for the SEPT's MBA Program should be well qualified academically and have some business experience. The total number of full-time students accepted each year is 25. Of this number approximately 90% will be international, i.e. from outside of Germany.
Requirements
- A University degree, at least on a Bachelor level (minimum of a four-year program) from a reputable university
- Broad knowledge of economic issues
- At least two years of relevant career experience
- Good knowledge of English (IELTS at least 6; TOEFL* at least 79-80 iBT [internet based], 213 Computer-Based or 550 Pencil&Paper; please, see instructions below)
- Chinese, Vietnamese and Mongolian applicants are required to supply an 'APS-Certificate'
Nigerian and Cameroonian Applicants must legalize their application documents at the German Embassy.
Excellent computer skills, at least in the use of software for word processing (e.g. MS-Word), spreadsheets (e.g. MS-Excel) and statistical analysis programs (e.g. SPSS, STATA)
Application
Please fill out the official online Application-form. In addition to the submission of this electronic application form, the following documents must be sent via post mail and arrive in the SEPT offices before the deadlines.
Important: All certificates have to be translated into English or German and be certified (meaning true copies of the original or translations stamped by an institution or authority). The application has to be in duplicate and not tacked. Incomplete or late applications will not be taken into consideration. Please, refrain from sending original documents.
- Application's Essay (1 page), which describes your motivation and merits for being part of this program
- Comprehensive Curriculum-Vitae
- School-leaving certificate giving right of entry to higher education in the home country (Certified translation)
- Certified university diplomas and degree certificates indicating the final grades; if applicable, accompanied by an explanation of the grading system
- Certified copy of English examination score report, giving evidence of the applicant's level of proficiency in English at the time of application (IELTS or TOEFL); please, see instructions below*. If during secondary and/or university education the medium of instruction was English: Please present such proof
- Record of professional employment/ practical work experience
- Two letters of recommendation
- Letter of confirmation of scholarship-donor if applicable or status of application procedure (i.e. copy of a letter of application)
- In case you apply for a DAAD Scholarship, please fill in also the Scholarship Application Form, which must be send with all the above listed documents to the German Embassy, DAAD in Bonn or University of Leipzig.
*Instructions for the TOEFL examination
Please indicate the code number 6976 when taking the test so that the TOEFL Score Report is sent to SEPT directly by Educational Testing Service.
Deadlines
Completed applications of self-financed applicants or holders of scholarships or support from third parts should be submitted to SEPT Program before:
- March 15th for beginning tuition on October 1st of the same year.
Applications for DAAD-Scholarship must consider the following deadlines:
31st July for submission of application at German Embassy or regional DAAD's office
31st August for submission at DAAD Bonn
31st October for submission at University of Leipzig
In all three cases, applications involving a DAAD scholarship must consider that their tuition would begin on October 1st of the following year.
Please take into account that if you are applying to scholarships from other sources, other deadlines might apply.
